About this place
At Sushi Miki, you can order an omakase selection of ten pieces of nigiri or choose each piece yourself. The menu lists the ten-piece selection at 2,079 yen. Nigiri priced at 157 yen per piece includes sea bream, flounder, gizzard shad and conger eel; ark shell, sea urchin, abalone and salmon roe are among the options at 315 yen each. Start with the chef’s selection, then add anything that catches your eye, or build your order piece by piece. Nigiri with wild bluefin tuna is also available as lean tuna, medium-fatty tuna and fatty tuna.
Diners have mentioned enjoying salmon and tuna nigiri, as well as a cucumber and wasabi roll. On another visit, one guest recalled the fatty tuna nigiri and red miso soup as highlights. A review praised the toppings but noted that the rice seemed warm.
For a more leisurely meal, there are small plates and grilled dishes alongside the sushi. You might begin with a five-item assortment of sake snacks or shime saba (cured mackerel), then try seasonal fish grilled with Saikyo miso or the day’s salted grilled fish collar before ordering nigiri. One returning diner wrote about enjoying sushi and grilled fish while sipping Japanese sake.
Japanese sake is served in glasses measuring 5 and 7 gō, making it possible to sample different varieties in smaller amounts. The menu describes Harushika as having a clean finish, while Tengumai is noted for its rich aroma and balanced acidity. Jōkigen, described as a good accompaniment to food, is another option to consider.
There is counter seating, and the restaurant’s information says it is suitable for solo diners. Dinner is served from Monday to Saturday, from 17:30 to 22:30, and reservations are available. Choose a meal centred on nigiri, or take your time over small plates and sake.
